Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 A hazy orange beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet with extremely strong notes of peaches and apricots - somewhat perfumy and artificial. The flavor is medicinaly fruity - especially apricots, but also spices, and a weird artificial note. The body is thin. Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 30, 2005 Orangey-amber with slight haze. Strong, slightly perfumey armoa with passion fruit, mango and coriander. Body is a bit of acidity but is overall sweet and estery. Tropical fruits, cumin, coriander are all beautifully balanced with sweet icing sugar malts. sk8viking (6078), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 Bottle thanks to Oakes. Amber colour with a big tan head. Fruity, spicy, pepper, perfumed aroma and taste, sweet. Medium body with a sweet, dry finish. acrdz (4285), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 15, 2005 22oz bottle. Copper and orange hue with a small to medium sized white head. Big syrupy sweet nose of ginger, coriander, soap, chlorine and sweet jolly rancher candies. Buggle gum malt flavor, with some spicy bread and tea flavors. That strong coriander and ginger soap flavor is overwhelming at times. Has a little toasted or burnt orange peel flavor as well. Like drinking potpourri. JorisPPattyn (4275), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 20, 2006 Vertical test between fresh and 1 yr. old samples, both on draught. Marks above for the aged beer
New one is hazy, old is clear gold, small yellow head Y: 4 Young one has a very nice nose, flowery even if it’s big time coriander. Peppery. Y: 7 The aged one yields again coriander, but without the fresh flowery streak, more soupy. In the taste, the coriander overpowers the young beer, leaving no space for anything else Y: 5 The old one has a strange taste, tastes like shellfish flavoured with coriander, but it’s quite OK, way more balanced. Slick MF, light to medium bodied. Palate again covered by coriander Y: 3 Aged palate is freed of most of the coriander, calmed down and balanced. Well, the nose is great Y: 11 The cellared one is well balanced, and makes a good drinking beer.
