bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Oct 21, 2007 Slightly cloudy pale gold. Poured a fairly average head for a hefe, without a bubble to be seen to support it. Quite a strong clove aroma, but the expected banana was quite muted. Not totally a bad thing, reminding me of days of lathering aching parts of my body in Tiger Balm. Whilst it was initially quite quaffable, when I got towards the bottom of the glass it was sitting a bit heavily in the gut. A couple of good burps, though, served to help the situation. I don’t mind this. Easily drinkable, especially on a warm day, without being a world beater. That said, though, if I wanted a hefe I wouldn’t be reaching for this particular one.
Pyobon (139), Sydney, Australia Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy pale amber with slight white head. Aroma of yoghourt, bananas, maybe a hint of hops. Light body with plenty of carbonation. Fairly light on flavour with fruitiness (lemon, banana) and some very light maltiness. It’s pleasant easy drinking, but not distinctive. Unholy_Brewing (287), Melbourne, Australia Jun 9, 2008 ...bottle. Another poor attempt at the great style of the hefe-weizen. Tastes like crayons, with some yeast and malt. They need to worry more about thier beer rather than writing a page to describe it. bluevegie (1735), Perth, Australia May 8, 2008 Another stubby enjoyed in the company of Sully and Highlandlad. Once again the company was much more memorable than the beer. Pale straw colour, cloves noticable in the aroma and the taste, not too much else. TimE (1019), Tokyo, Japan Mar 24, 2008 Cloudy golden color. Chalky banana nose. Light clovey, chalky mouth. A bit sour and not so balanced. Clovey finish Aarleks (402), Sydney, Australia Mar 14, 2008 Bottle: Mid gold with a soft drink-like white head that bubbled itself out of existense in a matter of 30 seconds or so. Pretty nice clove-pine aromas, which as I see now are a result of some cascade hops being thrown in. Nice move, I say. Sadly it doesn’t hold this form, as in the mouth it is all citrus-based washing detergent. It’s got a nice, solid body and there’s some of that classic hefe falvour profile, but it’s really let down by that cheap craft-beer taste.
