Bottle shared by dickinsonbeer. Deep brown mead. Totally still with a lot of thick legs. Very herbal nose with a bit of light wildflower honey on the back. Notes of apricots and a chewy medicinal character. Very intense aroma and flavour with a soft chewy sweetness. Loads of honey and herbal/spicy character. It’s pretty intense and very strange, but I kind of like it.

Glad I brought this to a tasting. Didn’t even know it could be rated!! Small little liquor bottle that was bonused by Engelsmann a few years ago in a trade! Thanks! Pours a golden copper with no head- some herbal sediment on the bottom. Aroma is medicinal, phenolic, strange woody and herbal honey, band-aid, slight infection- herbal spicy and just weird. Flavor has some cough syrupy sweetness and off medicinal flavors, green, leafy herbalness, sweetness fades to a weak and water-like middle and finish- brown sugar beeswax and other wierd hints throughout. Meh.

Bottle: Copperish amber- headless. Smells of honey flavored Robitussin, band aid with antibacterial cream, and molded raspberries. Slick hot boy with a very medicinal flavor. Papery, band aid, old fruit preserves, just old tasting in general. Seemed oxidized and overly sweet & medicinal. Not enjoyable.

Whoa. Ugh. Bottle from Paul that he got a couple years ago, apparently. Whew. Cinnamony and spicy flavor, really, but damn, this kicks your ass in the palate. Very strong, bourbony and whiskey in the aroma, with a light palate. Hard cider like. Phew, this stuff is brutal. I like it in a way, but god damn, This stuff isn’t beer or mead at all, this really shoudln’t be on the site IMO.

Bottle 250ml. at home. [ Courtesy of Papsoe ]. Clear light to medium amber red color with virtually none head. Aroma is flowers - elderberry - apple, vintage, honey, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, and a peppery finish. Body is medium to full, texture is syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [160908]

(Bottled). Dark amber ruby color, no head. Portwiney fruity nose with hints of wood and honey. Very portwineish flavor. Overriped fruits, molasses, raisins, not much honey in it. Warming alcohol in the finish. Nice.

Bottled@Fonefan (thanks for the bottle Papsoe). Reddish amber colour, not much head. Aroma is honey, some wood and mild notes of alcohol. Flavour is honey, alcohol and a quite peppery burning touch in the finish.

Dark amber color. It has an alcoholic aroma of caramel. The mouthfeel is thinner and drier than other meads, a lot alcoholic. The worst mead from this meadery.
