Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Mar 15, 2008 3/7/08 on draught at the brewpub. Aroma is solid roast malt forward with no hop flora; very porterlike. Appearance is clear amber-brown with a medium maintained tan head. Flavor is malt dominant as well, with sweetness, sourness and roast all even and masking low bittering with no flora. Mouthfeel is medium/high bodied with a good amount of creaminess, medium carb feel and sweet finish. Overall, good for not being to style, although the sweetness can get to you after a while.

Nice chestnut brown with a small light tan head. Some wispy lacing and a soft woody light roast aroma. Fairly light and thin and a bit of that slightly sour light porter twinge. Dare i say it?.... "Quafable" !
pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 12, 2008 Tap: Dark brown with a nice tanhead. Sweet malts with nice roasted, nutty flavors. A bit of a tangy aftertaste. Pretty good all-around brown ale. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jan 16, 2008 Draft @ Brewpub: Pours am immensely dark brown with a smaller beige head. Aroma of roast, malt, and floral hops. Flavor is initially solid with roasty notes, malt, nuts, and a bit of hops before weakening out in the finish. Finish is a bit flat with some light bitters. Most likely just what the brewer was looking to achieve; drinkable by most patrons. Still, better than a lot of browns. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 15, 2008 On tap at Sockeye Brewing Boise, ID Pours out a dark brown topped with a light tan head. A nice aroma of light hops and nut. Tast of light hops and some malt. Pretty good brown ale. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 3, 2003 It's like a big bear man! Not bad, kind of off kilter, there was smoething missing but I cannot put my finger on it. Had a slightly sweet malty, carob, ladyfinger, cookie like taste to it. No head, nice lacing, nutty and dark, with a nice bittersweet aftertaste. Better than most that I have had in hits category. BückDich (4786), McCall, Idaho, USA Jun 29, 2003 A very brown bear color, dark brown in the middle with tan edges. Excellent lacing without head. Floral hop aroma, citrus, nuts and malt, almost like a Scottish ale. Non bitter malty and nutty flavor. Almost like a newcastle clone but fresh. Smooth, not dry or bitter, nicely carbonated. Overall a very fresh brown ale with great complexities.
