I was told this particular batch was a combination of leftover Hopnoxious and Powerhouse Porter. It works pretty well together. This was so enjoyable that I had to have a 2nd pint. A nice hybrid blend and not a typical "black IPA" A nice combination of sweet and roasty, bitter and heavy on the palate, but manages to maintain a nice balance of all the flavors.

On tap at Sockeye Brewing Boise, Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a sand head. Aroma of dark roast, some chocolate sweetness and some citrus hops. Taste was much more of the porter side roast and malt. A little citrus hop and a nice bitterness.

On Tap @ the BP. Clear deep brown/black with a small but dense sandy colored head. Nice lacing the stuck around. roasted aroma with some hoppy notes. Flavor was a bit bitter and roasted. On the sweet side (a confession of the bartender that I agreed with) Tasted a bit like the IPA and the porter...blended. Imagine that... : ) A little heavy ans sweet but the blend worked. Interesting
