BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2008 Tap @ Brewery - Pretty malty and easy to drink. Smooth on the palate, with a refreshing bitterness in the finish. BuckeyeBoy (1635), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2008 On tap at Sockeye Pours our a nice amber with lots of red topped with a tan head. Aroma of a malty sweetness. tast of more of the malt and a nice bitterness. Not bad. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2008 On tap at brewery. Pours a light amber red, light retention. Nose has some caramel and buttery malt blended with a fresh hop note. Fairly thin body almost mimicking what’s on the nose. Bits of fruit, like...plum are barely detectable. Not much of a finish. So-so. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 8, 2008 On Tap at the brewpub. Clear mahogany color with a light tan head. A bit darker in both respects than I anticipated. Sweet malty aroma. Woody malty flavor with quite a bite. Plenty bitter but not exactly hoppy. Moderate body and so.ewhat astringent. Rather soft carbonation and plenty of late lingering bitters. Like a strong ESB maybe.
Interesting. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jul 5, 2008 Tap: Deep reddish amber with a large sandy head. Nice sticky lacing. Aroma is mild of hops and a little caramel malt. Flavor is decently hop-filled with a malty and sort of rye finish. Has a little dry floral feel to it as well. Nice and pleasant way to beat the summer heat. BückDich (4777), McCall, Idaho, USA Nov 5, 2004 Dark red color, fairly hazy and opaque, lots of off-white head and lacing. Nose is very hoppy and malty, notes of cookie dough, simcoe hops, figs. Tastes mildly bitter and fruity with plenty of hops for a lager. Very rich malty body. Melanoidin malts? Good harvest ale!
