skoisirius (474), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2008 Rating #420! On tap at the brewery. Not bad for Mr. 420! Pours a nice copper amber color with nice light head retention. Aroma is a nice lighter DIPA aroma with a strong sweet malt presence blended with lots of citrusy hops (more malt than hops though). Flavor has a lot of sugary malts up front, which gives way to a load of pine, orange, grapefruit, and a bit a dough. Nice, long, lingering bitter Centennial finish. Favorite here at Sockeye thus far.
BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jul 29, 2008 Pours a dark golden amber with a nice ring of cloudy foam. Lovely hop nose that literally jumps out of the glass. Loads of citrus, some herbal notes and some great fruit. Impressive balance, rugged hops goe to battle with a very strong malt backbone. The lacing just coats the glass to the point where you can hardly see glass anymore. Very nicely done. BuckeyeBoy (1129), Boise, Idaho, USA May 24, 2008 On tap at Sockeye Brewing. pouts out a sun orange with some amber. Topped with a off white cream head. A very nice citrus hop aroma. Tast full of more citrus hops. I picked up some malt and some caramel sweetness. This is a very tasty brew. jcwattsrugger (3862), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 20, 2007 @Mountain Beerfest-on nitro-pours a retaining creamy off white head and copper color. Aroma is nice cascade hops-citrus. Taste is cascade hops-citrus, slick/sweet-medium malt. Bradrcr (568), Renton, Washington, USA May 25, 2007 Incredibly interesting beer. I’m not even a fan of the style due to people trying to go overboard with their hopping, but here it clearly works. 8 varieties and 100+ IBUs, this beer is still very well balanced with the maltiness, and manages to maintain a clear appearance which is often so rare in the style as well. Very light mouthfeel as well, almost poppy, like a hef.
