jarndyce (38), Idaho, USA Mar 22, 2009 This is the best offering at Sockeye. Simply put..a hop lover’s dream. Medium orange color. Smaller head. Huge citrus odor. Almost as citrusy as Hopnoxious. Lemongrass fades to slight bitter. Lingers on the palate well. This is what beer is supposed to be. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2008 Tap @ brewery - This was good, I like this better than the Dagger Falls. This has a great hop bite and bitterness throughout, juicy citrus and caramel maltiness. Great balanced mouthfeel. BuckeyeBoy (1635), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2008 On tap at Sockeye Pours our a copper/amber topped with a creamy sand head. Aroma of citrus hops and sweet malts. Tast crisp hops with a nice balance of bitterness. A very tasty IPA (Double Pale Ale) IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 8, 2008 On Tap at the BrewPub Deep golden amber with a nice off white head. Full hoppy aroma. Moderate malt flavor and bod with a nice bitter balalnce. Plenty of late hop flavor and a decent body. Lively carbonation.
I’d like to see this one come back.
jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jul 3, 2008 Draft: Rich copper pour, medium beige head, and sticky lacing. Aroma is bright and hoppy, nice amount of citrus and sweet fruitiness. Flavor is hoppy, citrus, caramel, and sweets. Good bitters trailer. Nice body and overall a solid brew. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 30, 2008 Tap Dark gold and slightly cloudy with a nice off-white head. It has a great fresh hop bitter grapefruit taste with a good long-lasting finish. Very tasty! BückDich (4777), McCall, Idaho, USA Jun 23, 2008 Draft: Pours a copper bronze color with a nice stiff white head and tons of lacing. The nose is grassy with a ton of citrus and pine notes, seems a lot like the dagger falls minus as much simcoe. The flavor is malty with a nice doughy note followed by a clean balanced bitterness that doesn’t overpower. The finish is clean and tame for the "double pale ale" descriptor. This is quite nice!
