ogivlado (2193), Zagreb, Croatia Jul 22, 2008 swing top bottle(500ml). -Cloudy golden coloured, small soapy white head that went away for two seconds, acidic butterscotch nose. Typical slovenian homebrew taste, malty, yeasty, honeyish hoppy with some dry herbal notes in the finish. Also quite watery. According to the label alcohol content is between 4 and 5%ABV.
Avaliable only in bottles even at Sokol Restaurant in Ljubljana.
heavy (459), Split, Croatia Aug 6, 2008 01/08 0.5 l fliptop bottle at Sokol restaurant. Poured nice slightly murky golden body with medium sized head. Very nice, healthy hops aroma (herbal, lemon) and some honey malts. Promising, but flavor wasn’t nearly so good. Bitter, hop dominated flavor (herbs, grass, spicy) but very thin bodied. Dry, medium-long finish. Very pleasant, but so watery... Maybe this varies depending of the batch... andrewboss (126), USA Apr 16, 2008 Bottle from Sokol rst... one of thew best and most unique beers I’ve ever had. Not an everyday beer, but a good experirence. CEZ (365), Milano, Italy Jan 12, 2008 Clear yellow and fizzy lager, slightly acidic. Possibily a spoiled bottle. I’m not sure about the style. Comments: A fantastic lager, far and away the best I’ve had in Slovenia. Very yeasty, fresh and profound. Beautiful country hops, highly floral and fruity, rose-like. Complex, full-bodied, refreshing and satisfying. A free trip to Franconia. You’d better go to Sokol restaurant before the 2 brewpubs in Ljubljana.
