I would have scored it low anywhere else to but i imagine I would have gave it a slight - and I mean slight - bump if I was in Mexico as I often am in the heat, with a taco de polo and sipping some brandy along with it. With that said it smells grainy but is essentially Bud Light Mexico style. I think it is better than most American macros but that’s a bout it. I also think it is better than Corona which to me tastes a bit skunked. efrumtheidiot (190), Maryland, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 19, 2008 pours a crystal clear golden amber with a white head. straw and corn in the aroma. taste is almost identical to corona. actually it’s almost identical to most pale lagers, which tend to just plain suck anyway. HOWEVER. this brew has some nostalgia for me, as it was the only beer i could find while on a trip to monterrey, mexico. add a little lime, a few tacos, and a heavy dose of tequila and this brew starts tasting pretty damn good. drink it in summer, with a lime and some mexican food. there’s my two cents. | 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Clear glass bottle. A clear yellow beer with a small and fast collapsing white head. Almost not existing aroma, only light cereals and no hops. The flavour is mild with some sweetness and again almost no hop traces. Quite light body, fizzy carbonation, short finish with very light bitterness, almost nothing. Very poor beer. MaliMisho (215), East Meadow, New York, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 15, 2008 This was not a good beer at all. This was a waste of money, but at least I got another beer under my belt I guess. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Feb 12, 2008 I was given this, I did not buy it. Very yellow, fizzy with a short lived head. Weak aroma which is like cornflakes. Not much flavour, which is a good thing in this case, and quite dry. A boring, poor quality, expensive import. MrRain (435), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Feb 12, 2008 12oz bottle poured into a lager glass. I’m drinking this VERY cold as is appropriate for the style. Sol pours dark yellow like your piss when you’ve been in the desert, high on cocaine and running from the MAN for slicing that bitch’s throat in Juarez. The aroma reminds me of apple orchards and corn fields... sweet and earthy. The beer is so cold it doesn’t have any taste. I have a feeling this is for the best. The palate is dry, with a quick finish and no after taste. This is a thirst quencher and nothing more. Don your eye patch and sidle up to the bar and order a Sol like a rough and tough local. Go forth and be bad. Suttree (2742), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 9, 2008 The excitement - verging, in fact, on almost pure elation - of finding a new beer in Knoxville was entirely countered by the almost soul cruching disappointment of that new beer being a Mexican lager in a clear bottle. So, I guess it averages out to indifference. Pours yellow, with a white head aroma of...screw it. Its a sad little Mexilager with no real value except as a rating. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Sampled at Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN with joebrew and brewfiend. Pours a clear golden blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates nearly clean with some thin white ring. Aroma of light corn grits, some grassy hops and a touch of tart apple. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with a thin and watery golden corn malt and grassy hop flavor. Finish is clean cut and crisp. A light watery pale lager at best.
