| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Smells slightly sulfury...This is expected in this style. Not being filtered or extensively fined there is a very lively yeast aroma. If the sulfur could be tamed slightly I’d rate it up at 4...
Appearance is very much a true Kolsch. Slightly cloudy with a nice carbonation.
Taste is very much fruity. I am a fan of the style and taste. You can drink a sweet refreshing low 4.5 alcohol beer and feel like there is body and substance.
Very nice on the palate but the excess yeast can be overwhelming. Even modest filtering might transform this beer into a more drinkable brew. Not to say it isn’t drinkable but the extreme yeast haze can be a turn off to many.
Overall I think this low alcohol low IBU beer is gaining lots of appreciation as a worth session beer. I’d have it for a session beer but the yeast might not agree with my belly. bhensonb (4361), Woodland, California, USA

Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Light stone fruit flavors. Mild semidry finish. Not your standard kolsch. nimbleprop (936), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
