Commercial Description:
In early July, 2006 in commemoration of our 10th Anniversary, and the brewing of the 100th Batch of beer brewed at our new Pinnacle Peak brewery, Brewmaster Scott Yarosh wanted to do something different. The “Sonoran 100” is a naturally fermented Malt liqueur flavored with Honey and a hint of Maple. After the 9 week fermentation, we aged our “100” for several months before running the whole batch through our custom filter of toasted Maple and Oak wood chips. The result was a Bourbon-like brew that is best served in a small snifter or as a shot on the rocks for those that prefer it chilled. This 19.5 % ABV is the first brew in a continuing series of “Extreme Brews” the Sonoran Brewing Company has planed. Every 100 batches we will brew something wild! Keep an Eye out for It!

Bottle: Wow, this really pushes things in a different direction. Very bourbon like with tons of maple, honey and oak flying around. Extremely thin body and no carbonation so you want this on the rocks. Doesn’t seem like it belongs here, but I’d try it again.

( Bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR ) Pours an amber-brown body with no head. Aroma of wood, maple, honey, bourbon, raisins, and caramel. Flavor of honey, wood, maple, grilled meat, and dark fruit.

So yea...this one was sitting on cletus’ liquor stand kinda thing and he tried to get us to kill the bottle. Loads of maple flavor, not very hot at all which was surprising. Liquorlike.

Bottle provided by Kevin, thanks:

Deep muddy brown with quite oily appearance. The aroma is smoky, earthy, cardboardy (as actually expected), marzipan, prune, walnuts, and a bit boozy. The taste is much of the same, smoky and maple syrup overtones with a nutty, dark fruit and boozy finish. The mouth feel is shockingly dry and chewy, nicely warming upon the chest. Very different and would have loved to try this in a fresher state.

Shared by BMan1113VR (what the hell kinda moniker is that!?!?!) at Stone Sour Fest. This dude and this bottle is the reason I like going to these kind of events. Seriously, some swamp-water looking barley-wine concoction in a craft tequila-looking bottle. Almost 20% ABV? At a sour fest? Thanks a lot. I really liked this. Like I said, swamp water hazy brown with a rich, sweet booze nose. Big nose. Smells like a 10 year old barley wine. Tons of flavors going on.

Stratford tasting @ Cletus house. Pours a dark amber body with no carbonation. Vanilla, oak, malty maple, chalky sweetness. Not bad for 19%.
