Commercial Description:
In early July, 2006 in commemoration of our 10th Anniversary, and the brewing of the 100th Batch of beer brewed at our new Pinnacle Peak brewery, Brewmaster Scott Yarosh wanted to do something different. The “Sonoran 100” is a naturally fermented Malt liqueur flavored with Honey and a hint of Maple. After the 9 week fermentation, we aged our “100” for several months before running the whole batch through our custom filter of toasted Maple and Oak wood chips. The result was a Bourbon-like brew that is best served in a small snifter or as a shot on the rocks for those that prefer it chilled. This 19.5 % ABV is the first brew in a continuing series of “Extreme Brews” the Sonoran Brewing Company has planed. Every 100 batches we will brew something wild! Keep an Eye out for It!

Provided by Pailhead. Murky, brown body with no head. The aroma is hickory, smoke, bacon and honey. The flavor is sweet, caramel, toffee, hickory, alcohol and brown sugar. Full body is soft and still with a slightly hot finish.

Poured a dark brown color with no head at all. Aroma was of smokiness, maltiness, salami. All i got was straight salami on this one, which is pretty weird. This really wasnt all that sweet for being so strong. This also had a lot of maple to it and brown sugar.

Thanks to Chris for sharing. brown pour w/ legs rather than head nearly a wine. Intense maple aroma dark sugars almost like a super sweet scotch mixed w/ beer. hints of oak & vanilla and a touch of peat. verry very sweet. Palate is soft & well coated quite warming. Lots of wood notes well hidden alcohol except the hots swallow tons of maple notes syrups and brown sugar. Lots of scotch to bourbon notes. Very nice.

This is a really cool bottle and a decidedly odd beer. Clear dark copper with no head. It smells decidedly like bacon. The flavor is fairly dry and a bit alcoholic. Slight bit of caramel and smokiness. This would quite likely be improved by carbonation.

Thanks to murrayswine for the opportunity to try this! From #257/1000. Poured a clear, still iced tea brown with a coppery shimmer in the right light. I really enjoyed the aroma of deep maple sugars, lightly-smoked hickory, and honey.. not much in there resembled beer to be honest. The flavor was more brash than the aroma with a hefty peppery alcohol kick... maple, smoke, and alcohol warmth through the long finish. Warm and complex on the palate with a decent feel. Thanks Chris!

Bottle from cbkschubert! - Thanks Craig - Pours semi clear brown with no head at all. Aromas first of overpowering smoke but looking under that you find maple and caramel with a touch of honey. Falvor is very similar.. Upfront it is smoke but under that is maple, honey, and of course a little alcohol. Smooth and scotchlike on the palate with the alcohol amazingly concealed well.

Bottle shared by OhioDad at C-Bus 6: Crazy ass bottle. Pours a clear amber color with no head. Aroma, smoky, some bacon/campfire thing going on, maple, some other woody notes. Flavor, maple, molasses, woody notes, some heat, but really not all that much, a hint of honey. Weird but solid, and the bottle prompted many shouts of "Tequilla!!".
