old chicago mesa...

unfiltered?...crystal clear orange kool-aid color/pale orange gold with a small white head which fades quickly. smells fake... a bit dusty, butterscotch/buttery caramel and orange. not much to it. the flavor has a faint orange note albeit artificial... along with vanilla, cinnamon, muddy/dirty and a dry mildly spiced finish. the body is light to medium and leaves a sticky residue on the palate.

sad to say that this was vastly improved by the orange serve with it... 4/2.5/4/3/8/2-2.1

This beer is now marketed under the name: Sonoran Mandarin Madness Hefeweizen. On tap at Old Chicago Mesa, AZ. Pours a hazy orange to gold with a small white head. Aroma is malt, orange, vanilla. Flavor is malt, vanilla, orange, orange blossoms, a touch of wheat. Very smooth refreshing beer, but the orange and vanilla are a tad artificial, but despite these flaws this is really nice and drinkable on a hot day.

On tap at Copper Canyon Phoenix AZ. Pours hazy golden with almost no head. Very thin bodied. Aroma and flavour very perfumed and artificial. Not very memorable.
