Commercial Description:
Sonoran's Heartland Hefe is a refreshing, unfiltered American style wheat ale. It’s soft, round taste with a clean finish, makes it a quencher in the Arizona heat. Serve with a slice of lemon or orange.

The Hefe that I had must have been different from others. I very much so enjoyed this Hefe. It was full of flavor, had a wonderful palate and looked, smelled, and had a Hefe consistency. This is the best Hefe that I have had out of a microbrewery...took a bottle home with me.

On Tap at Brewery: This is actually quite a clean for a hefe; smooth and drinkable without alot of phenelics; light banana and lemon notes; a hefe I practically enjoyed.

The beer pours a clear gold with a modest bright white head that is bubbly in texture and the lace a rather thin sheet. Nose is sweet malt with a hint of wheat, start cloyingly sweet with a decent bit of wheat and malt, top middling in feel. Finish is brisk in its carbonation and the hops slight but acceptable given the style, sweet and dry aftertaste, drinkable but not one of their better beers.

Sampled at the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild 2008 Strong Beer Fest, on February 17, at the Mesa Amphitheatre. A hazy golden color with a small foamy white head. Aroma of grain and citrus. Pretty standard tasting American Wheat. Refreshing, but not spectacular.

Medium gold color, slightly hazy. Large foamy head. Aroma is malty and a touch floral. A medium bodied weizen. Malts are mild and slightly sweet. Not very hoppy. Very smooth taste. Well balanced. That said it also doesn’t have much flavor. It also a little lemony tasting and funky. Not one of Sonoras better efforts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly bitter.

Yellow, slightly cloudy, with a good head. Pretty weak beer. Not much aroma at all. A bit of hops, but not much. Arizona Lawnmower beer.

This wheat beer is a gold color with a bit of chill haze to it (note I did not pour in the yeast at the bottom of the bottle). It pours with a thin white head that fades quickly. There is a slightly catty hoppy aroma. Smells grainy, and has an aroma that I usually associate with an American lager. Quite clean tasting overall, has a hint of fruity sweetness to it. Has a bit of hop bitterness at the end, and is well carbonated.
