This beer was a nice surprise. I found it at Trader Joe's in Riverside, CA. Espresso, malt and Smokey aroma that poured out thick and dark with a small brown head. Flavor was opulent bitter chocolate and coffee. Creamy mouth feel that was very pleasing to the palate. Strong alcohol presence.

This beer rocks! Extremely Black ale with a creamy, well-tanned head. Poor retention, but good lacing. Smoke, espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla in the nose. Lots of bitter hops to go along with the burnt malt, espresso and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Full-bodied with a fatty, chewy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, burnt, bitter finish. Dry too! Wow! World class brew!

This dark brown to black brew is topped by a thin to medium thick brown head with little lacing. The aroma is slightly swet and malty with a smoked meat character. Huh? Strange, it actually smells like pepperoni or beef jerky. Teh flavor is sweet andmalty and that damn smoked meat character. Full bodied and slightly smooth.

Opaque black color, dark brown head. Smokey aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Nice, rich flavors of smokey coffee, chocolate and malty sweetness.

Deep black color, thick brown head. Not much of an aroma, coffeeish, with alot of burnt flavors. Flavor is not overwelming. Alcohol is nonexistent. Finish is mildly sweet. Good Imperial Stout. Thanks Jcalabres

What in the freaking hell is wrong with this aroma. It smells like a jerkey factory. Deep black color with a short lived head that smells damn near like bag of jerky. Not overpowering for a stout though. I really don't taste the alcohol though, just some good amounts of chocolate.

Thick black color with a dark espresso brown tone overall, thin head of broken chocolate brown fluff that appears and disappears equally fast, lace is in minimal thin strings and spots with some oilyness. Aroma is soft for an Imperial, but whats there is quite nice with dark semi-sweet chocolate, some roastyness, molasses and dark cherry notes. Taste is calmly smooth and bitter, both in chocolate and overall character, lots of layers to the chocolate, sweet, bitter, dry, fluffy, thick, chewy, you name it, its got it in there somewhere. Finish has some late effect of chocolatey drying with notes of cherry, raisin, and roasted sweetness. Feel is silky smooth, lightly velvety, and quite full, ending with substantial dryness, thrown in with some nice bittering chocolate. A very nice stout indeed, not as complex as some, but the chocolate tones are all over the place in this one, which made up for it.

Very dark of course, smallish tan head. Nice toasted chocolate and malt aroma. Cocoa-coffee with a tinge of fruit before some hops bitter kicks in. Alcohol is fairly well hidden, the overall experience is quite pleasant - not quite up to Old Rasputin imo but close.
