Jul 28, 2008 Bottled - tasted blind An amber veer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also an acidic edge. The flavor old with notes of over ripe fruit and oxidation, and the mouthfeel is sticky.

Jul 27, 2008 From bottle #29 at sk8vikings American blind tasting. Pours hazy orange to amber with lacing off-white head. Spiced and dry woody aroma. Flavour is dry malty towards dense fruity and malty. Lingering malty and fruity into the finish. Light acidic and bitter finish. Smooth yet powerful.

Flavor: sweet and fruity flavor, dark caramel sweetness brings out a lot of ripe fruit character, only a hint of bitterness for balance, finishes sweet and fruity just like it starts

Feb 24, 2003 (bottle) Clear red copper with minimal head. Aroma is sweet, barley wine-style malty/hoppy, fruity (berry?), slight alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, some floral hoppiness, fruity, very smooth. Hides it's alcohol very well. Very nice English-style barley wine.

Apr 7, 2009 Bottle... C&P’sLYFO Throwdown... Cloudy caramel-colored ale. Not much of a head. Caramelly, lactic nose. Full-bodied. Seems to be a bit infected as the chewy caramel base is tainted a bit by misplaced acidity and very effervescent carbonation. Tangy, moderately bitter finish. Not bad, but more care should have been taken in either the bottling or handling of this beer.
