Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bomber. Poured hazy medium orange with almost no head sticking around. The aroma picked up orange, pineapple, and lesser caramel sweetness with floral and black peppery accents.. balance was well done, with more intriguing black pepper on the back. The flavor found pineapple meat and caramel at the core with lots of bright citrus bitterness and peppery notes on the edges.. a bit sour and metallic at times with fruity character.. finished tart, tacky, and bitter with more citrus and a little brown sugar. Medium-bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. the sourness really took over as it warmed up, and didn’t work so well. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Sep 4, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with an average off white head. Nose is orange/pineapple. Taste is toasted grains, toffee, caramel, apricot, orange. A nice English style IPA. Not my favorite style, but a tasty sessionable IPA anyways. Balanced more toward the malts than i prefer. Body is medium, carbaontion is adequate. thefrutigers (100), , Arizona, USA May 31, 2009 bottle: poured hazy orange. Smelled piney and slighty malty sweet. Taste was different from other IPA’s very bitter loads of flavor with a metallic feel in the taste with a sweet grainy flavor. Overall: Very drinkable, but the metallic flavor from the hops (I assume) is just not my cup of tea. eaglefan538 (2351), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Apr 28, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey in our latest beer exchange. The pour was a full orange color with some haze, an off-white to white colored head. The aroma was caramel, floral, biscuity. The flavor was floral hops, spicey bittering elements, tea bags, caramel, biscuits, and some lightly fruity overall aspects. An English take on the style, not too bad, nothing to write home about. Thanks, Bill, always a pleasure, always appreciative of your generosity. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Apr 26, 2009 This is a good IPA. Copper color. Short, white head. Bitter hop aroma with lots of citrus, and some pine. Mild hop bite, much less than I expected from the big aroma, but still good flavor. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Mar 28, 2009 650 ml bomber via trade with sparky27, thanks man. Pours a translucent copper color with a big off-white head that has good retention and plenty of lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength with yeast, hops, bread and a bit of pine. The taste is mildly hoppy with pine, caramel and a big biscuit/bread presence. The finish is medium in duration and dry with just a touch of lingering biter rye bread. The mouthfeel is full and malty. Overall: A very sessionable IPA, I could drink this every day. NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2009 Bomber via trade with Hellbilly. Pours a deep copper with a nice fluffy head, clear. If you move yourself away from what American IPAs typically are, you start to get this beer. The nose is all EKG hops, resiny and piney, no citrus notes at all. Some biscuity malt notes as well, and floral. On taste, it’s actually got quite a bit of bitterness that could creep up on you. A touch metallic at first, as well as cereal from the English malts. Finishes pretty well. Pretty decent, actually. Padron4KM (400), Chandler, Arizona, USA Mar 15, 2009 22 oz bottle.
Clear orangy amber, thin head and patchy lace. Light caramel malt aroma with some citrus and floral hops.
Flavor is citrus and pine with some malt back.
Body is light.
Finish is medium in length and lightly bitter.
Nothing too spectacular, but it is a decent, drinkable IPA.
