Commercial Description:
Two things distinguishes this pale ale from our standard pale. First is the color. We've made some minor deletions in some dark caramel malt and the most obvious is that we poured the hops to it. Much like an India Pale Ale as bitterness goes, however this beer features Northwest American bittering and aroma hops. (The IPA featured English style hops). Not for the faint of heart. A bold assertive brew with distinguishing citrus smells and flavors from the hops. Yet the malty sweetness is there enough to provide flavor stability.

On tap - pours amber with thin light white head. Musty leaves aroma with caramel hoppy accents. Slightly bitter with subtle sweet and pine. Strong finish.

On Tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest. Amber with a thin white quickly dissipating head. Aroma of "forest" – pine, resin, tree sap, caramel and citrus. Taste of pine, citrus, light grapefruit and some caramel to help balance it out. Pretty decent beer, probably my favorite so far from the brewery.

On draught at the brewpub in Ashland, Wisconsin. Pours a clear godlen coppery amber brew with a white head that quickly dissolves to a ring with good lacing. Aroma of sweet grapefruit, some caramel malt and more citrus zest. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with a sweet grapefruit and pine flavor. Very much like the Muskie Capital regular Pale Ale version except the water is slightly harder. Finish has a sweet grapefruit bitter aftertaste, almost an IPA catagory brew.
