Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Ashland, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy pale yellowish amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and white ring. Very little lacing at best. Aroma of sweet apple bread, some flowery hops with a touch of honey, caramel and light alcohol. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with an excellent balance of bread-like malt and sweet tangy apples. Finish is slightly tart at first and then a sweet apple aftertaste with no spice except just sweet flavor. This year’s batch was terrific compared to previous years. No wonder this beer in bottles sold out so quickly.

Amber color with a good sized off white head that lasted a while. Spicey apple aroma. Sweet apple and clove honey taste. There were some malts in the tastes as well. Not as over powering as some fruit beers, very well done.

Nice amber color, small white head that had a good hangtime and left a decent lace behind.Nice sweet apple and honey aroma with maybe something spicy in there but hard to say.Nice malty taste upfront then you get a quick hint of honey and the apple comes up fast afterwards. The apple isn’t real strong but nicely done with maybe just a faint hint of hops at the end.Over all a pretty pleasant brew that makes me wish that it maybe had a little mulling spice in it so it was more of a winter ale then a fruit.Still a fine brew on it’s own.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of matl and spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Dark amber aroma with a towering head. Dry apple aroma. Very heavy on the barley and cereal taste that tends to cover up whatever apple flavor there is. Just a hint of something sweet, maybe honey. Decent, but not appley enough for me.

Pours to a HUGE fizzy head. BE CAREFUL when pouring. If the head was more manageable, this would be rated higher. The body is a hazy straw color with ultra-tiny particulate. Excellent lacing once the gargantuan white head dies down. The aroma is not fruity at all. More honey and dry silage. Corn stalks. Silage. The flavor is corn silage, wheat, grains. Oddly, the flavor isn’t offensive. The palate is pretty basic, but good.

Hazy dark golden liquid. Diminished, somewhat fizzy, cream colored head. Pale and lightly toasted malt aromas along with some light applesauce, and wild honey aromas. Mild apple start, and actually middle, and finish. Fairly sweet throughout but not overly. I catch a touch of malt here and there but more so in the linger. Caramel apples seem to come to mind.
