Commercial Description:
A seasonal beer of Belgian origin, brewed for harvest time. A complex beer for sure, from the unique yeast strain, and a combination of malts to the unusual fermentation temperature comes a beer that is spicy, somewhat fruity, light bodied, and with a quenching bitterness. The aromas and flavors will be enhanced by allowing the beer warm slightly. Brewed primarily in the French speaking region of Belgian and the farming community there. A one of a kind style.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown Ashland, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber amber with a thick, creamy and lumpy off-white head that has some excellent retention and thick lacing. Aroma of clean crystal grain malt, some grassy hops, a touch of banana esters and cloves. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of light multi-grain malt, banana esters, a touch of white pepper and herbal spices. Finish is semi-dry, a mild bitterness with some aftertaste of light banana, cloves and cereal grain malt. Strange! I swear this beer is practically identical to the beer I tried at Musky Capital Brewpub in Hayward, WI.

10th Annual Mid*Winter Brewfest. Pours to a hazy brassy body with a nice off-white head. The aroma is fruity with notes of basement and typical light musty farmhouses. I’m told by Badger the brewer that its made with Dupont Saison yeast. The flavor is also quite fruity with tart green apples, saison yeasts, and other mystery fruits. The beer has a refreshing palate. It has a moderate body that finishes clean with a nice tartness and decent carbonated refreshment. I liked this beer a lot and could drink a bunch of it.

Fairly dark golden to amber color. Moderate head. Pale malt and rich light fruit aromas. Mild malt mix with a corriander and blueberry flavors. A nice effort at this style.
