JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Aug 11, 2007 Pours copper with a sweet caramel aroma. Slight honey flavor with a good hop presence. ABV is masked very well. badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jul 27, 2007 Growler courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a medium head. Honey aroma and some Noble hop. Sweet honey taste with a medium hop bitterness. Tasty fine. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jul 23, 2007 From Skyview’s growler. Caramel aroma. Sweet but a lot of bitter hops for the style, and interesting idea that has worked fairly well. The high abv is well hidden. One of South Shore’s better creations. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 24, 2007 On tap at Wilmarths Deepwater Grille. Dark honey color with faint creamy head. Very sweet apple in the nose and body. Lots of sweet malt as well. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 21, 2007 Third stop during May ’07 brewpub tour, brought us to the South Shore Brewery in Ashland, WI. Pours a semi-cloudy burnt coppery amber color brew with an average off-white head that dissolves very slowly to a fine film. Lacing is average. This maibock has aroma of sweet buttery toast, bananas, a touch of apriots, and sweet sugar. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium body and more sweetness on the tongue. Finish is sweet and no bitterness.
