esjaygee (830), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 20, 2008 On Tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest. Mildly hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of honey, corn and grain. Taste of honey, mild grassy hops and lemon. Beerlando (1356), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours a cloudy, glowing tangerine-yellow color. What starts as a massive, billowing head of white foam slowly dissipates to a wispy film with a thin edge. Scant lines and traces of lacing mark the glass. The aroma hints at a mild infection, a bit of out-of-place funk interfering with a sweetly glazed, toasted malt background and perfumy, floral hops. Notes of honey really show up in the flavor, highlighting the toasted cereal grains and subtle floral hops. There’s a bit of a wild, almost sour yeast character that again seems to have stemmed from the beginnings of an infection. Medium-light bodied, with balanced carbonation and a floral, semi-sour finish. This would be a decent summertime brew if it were not for the infection, but I have to consider quality control matters in my rating. MartiniFiend (104), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2008 Bottle. darker gold with a medium head. Hop aroma with a hint of honey. Smooth on the palate. Nice hop & honey flavor at start with a hop finish. Could have more of a pils flavor. phishpond417 (1463), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 29, 2008 Pours a bright golden colour with a small white head. This beer had a nice pleasent barbecue smell to it. Not smokey, but when i smelled it, i noticed an outdoor wisc barbecue in the aroma. sweet honey fountain!! troyc (978), Lubbock, Texas, USA Apr 7, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a golden color with a large white head. Aroma is of light citrus and some sweet malts. Actually, sweet honey notes come through well in this brew. Taste includes a typical crisp hoppy bite. Decent mouthfeel, but a bit overcarbonated. I feel like I have had a couple of overcarbonated beers from this brewery. All in all, a pretty good pils.
