| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2008 It looks like I’m alone here, but I really liked this beer. The only thing I will say is that I think it may have been overcarbonated. The second I opened it, foam shot out about 2-3 inches and it was hell to pour.
Yellow body with a great head (maybe due to over-carbonation) that poured worse (or better) than a Duvel. Great retention. Aroma of homey and malts was very prevolent to me. Very crisp on the nose and pallate. Nice honey backbone to smooth out the hops nicely. Very smooth drinker. I could see sitting down with a six pack or more and not getting sick of it. It was a very fresh bottle so maybe they changed something since the other reviewers. Maybe worth a revisit by previous BA’s. Solid offering.

Perhaps I had a bad batch, but the fizzing was overwhelming as I could neither pour it to a glass or take a sip from the bottle. Can’t even say I really tasted the beer as there was so much carbonation. Dickinsonbeer (3545), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 13, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pops with a loud hiss indicating huge carbonation. Pours hazy murky golden yellow wiht a monstoous soapy head fine bubbles and large bubbles that you see in infected beers, with lots of beading and high effervessence. Aroma is moderately sweet with honey and apple juice, some phenols, citrusy lemon grass and surprisingly pleasant fresh grassy hops. Flavor is mustly dirty, earth, cheesy and stale hops, crackery stale bland malts, and the carbonation goes so high is leaves prickly grassy spciy hints on the tongue. Cant really tell for sure if it is infected or just rediculously carbonated, but there really arent any funky or off flavors so I guess it is just rediculously carbonated. Im glad over half of this beer gushed out and overflowed my glass into the sink. I can barley finish half. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Bottle thanks to Skyview. Poured hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head that stuck around for a while. Aroma picked up sweet pale malts with underlying lemon and herbal accents.. just the faintest hint of honeysuckle at the very end as it warmed up. The flavor was similarly enjoyable, sporting biscuit and honey sweetness at the core, with herbal and grassy bitterness around the tongue and the sides of the mouth.. finish left a smack of honey that was rather enjoyable along with a pinch of lemon zest. Light-bodied and creamy across the middle with a crisp finish.. nice carbonation to it. This was an solid brew. LongShotRX (15), Barronett, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Seems much more like a wheat beer than a pilsner. Honey brings out all the sweetness a beer could want. Overall not bad but not hopped enough and way to sweet. islay (481), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Aroma of lager yeasts and Continental European hops. Honey, apple, and lemon scents. Powerful aroma by standards of the style. Pours a sparkling, moderately pale gold with a slight haze and small amount of suspended particulate. Moderate amount of uneven, tight, off-white head. Produces nice, thick lacing. Honey and hoppy flavor with a dull finish. The honey sharpness verges on a vinegary, spoiled taste, but fortunately it stops just short. Reminiscent even of a Flemish red, believe it or not, though this beer has far less extreme sour flavors. Yeast and sweet malts noticeable in the taste. Improves on multiple sips, although it does settle into a blandness. Medium body. Smooth and frothy in the palate. Refreshing and easy to drink. Despite its low ratings, this actually is a strong brew across the board with the single major exception of flavor, where it is weak. I do compliment South Shore on its cool, sparkling labels. This is some of the better packaging I’ve seen on a non-big beer.
