Commercial Description:
Don't be intimidated by the rich walnut color. This beer is really not heavy at all. It is very smooth with no bitterness, and has a real warming, nut-like flavor and aroma. Brewed to match a traditional English mild, it has carbonation levels that are more American. Our "flagship" brew, it's a very social drink and goes great with all types of food.

Did not care at all for this brown ale. Flavor was a tart bitterness. Not my favorite.

Draft at Mogie’s Pub in Eau Claire. Brown brew with a rich 3 finger head(poured from a pitcher); tan in color. Soft nutty aroma with hints of maple arount the edges. Smooth full bodied brew fills the palate. Minimal lacing. Rated after brewing my own brown ale :) Points bump?!?!???

Medium brown-red color with a thin beige head, essentially no lace. Initially faint smell, a little grass, a little chocolate. As it opens up, aroma becomes increasingly dusty. Flavor is malt-driven, somewhere between nutty and grassy, with an earthy finish. Thin bodied, and despite the minimal head, somehow gassy once consumed.

bottle courtesy of Dalzale. Pours brown with a generous tan head. Smells of sweet malt, nutty, earthy. Tastes sweet and lightly tarte with an earthiness on the finish.

Deep and dark amber bosy with a lightly offwhite head. The aroma is leathery with some caramel. The taste is leathery with some apples. There is also some nice caramel in the finish. Fairly light and smooth.

12 oz bottle. Pours a rich caramel brown with an off white head that is not very pronounced and dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is of roasted nut and almost a new shoes smell to it...kinda strange. Lots of malt aromas as well and just a touch of hop presence. Flavor is very nutty and sweet. There is a nice malt backbone on this beer with not much hop bitterness to talk about. Very flavorful. One thing, it almost seem s a little thin in the mouthfeel. I could and would drink this again.

A very tasty brown ale. Sampled this at the brewery/grille itself in draft and then later purchased a six pack of bottles. Sweet, nutty flavor. Rich color. Goes well with food. One to look for.
