Commercial Description:
Don't be intimidated by the rich walnut color. This beer is really not heavy at all. It is very smooth with no bitterness, and has a real warming, nut-like flavor and aroma. Brewed to match a traditional English mild, it has carbonation levels that are more American. Our "flagship" brew, it's a very social drink and goes great with all types of food.

Not even vaguely brown, clear amber makes it look like an IPA. A few malts, sweet, bit of milky chocolate and hops, no real earthiness or peatiness.

Indeed; don’t be intimidated...by this plain brown ale. A very light flavor with nuts and even lighter hops. It looks nicer than it is with the dark amber color. It is a simple brown ale; and there is little more that needs to be said.

On tap at WI State Fair. Cloudy chestnut brown color with virtually no head. Aroma was sweet malt and fruity hops. Flavors of dark roasted malt with a touch of sweetness but mainly dominated by the spicy fruit of the hops. Finish is a nice smooth roasted malt. Average body and soft mouth feel with a heavy carbonation that seems out of place in a brown ale. A nice brown ale just a bit heavy on the hops. I could certainly drink it again but I would pick any one of at least half a dozen others over this one given a choice.

Cloudy dark burnt orange pour, with a finger of quickly fading off-white head. Didn’t I have this beer yesterday? Crisp even malt and fruit aroma, light yeast behind. Carbonation is effervescent. Not light struck, but sour. Flavor starts of a little harsh and burnt, but finishes with a mouthful of sour yeasty malt. Aftertaste is much more pleasent with a faint woody nut flavor. Meh.

Bottle: Dark caramel, hazy, thin off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft grainy nose, sweaty armpit.   Bright malty flavor, subtle graininess.   Average body and mouthfeel.   Light finish, fairly clean, somewhat sweet, lingering lactic like presence.   Light... tiz alright but the nose throws me off.   Thanks Matt D!

On tap at the brewery. A light tan head with no staying power. Full fruit aroma - apricots . Cloudy light brown. Apricots. No depth, just dried fruit. Creamy, soft, no finish. Must have a problem with this one.

lightly cloudy copper w/ a thin off white head. aroma of wheat and a hint of spice. A highly carbonated light-med body palate. Lighty nutty malt flavor a fairly standard brown ale.. if you let it warm a nice hop kick comes out. Overall a decent beer but nothing special.

Thanks to Jewedekind for this. Pours deep copper/slight ruby with medium white head. Aroma of malt, nuts, toffee, some cognac. Tastes malty, with toffee, big almonds, and some finishing fruit and caramel. A decent nut brown.
