Commercial Description:
Don't be intimidated by the rich walnut color. This beer is really not heavy at all. It is very smooth with no bitterness, and has a real warming, nut-like flavor and aroma. Brewed to match a traditional English mild, it has carbonation levels that are more American. Our "flagship" brew, it's a very social drink and goes great with all types of food.

Much too like my first homebrew attempts--Thin, watery, and just underwhelming. Aroma is roasty with a little sweetness. Flavor is much the same. Finish is slightly bitter. Just not much too write about.

Pours a dark brown, small white head. Aroma of apples, raisins, and cinnamon. Flavor is spicy and malty. Somewhat thin, cherries, and spices. Palate is thin, overall not bad.

At the GHBF: Light caramel hue with a small head and little lace, some floaties. The aroma has notes of caramel and pale malts, aromatic hops, hazelnut, pipe tobacco (cavendish), and surprising phenols. The taste is acidic and sour starting followed by a nutty sweetness. Light bitters on the finish. The feel is bready and chalky, not much depth of palate. Arggh, another so-so brown ale. You can line up 90% of the style and never tell them apart.

Bottle via BBB63: Light brown with reddish tint, floating bits. Nutty nose with a faint hint of alcohol, soury, nutty flavor, but a bit thin.

Brown color with a big, frothy head. Very nutty aroma and taste with a good malt pairing. Very much a session beer, and it has flavor!

Brown coloring. Small Head. Some Nutty Flavors... Pretty Creamy Tastiing. It’s Nothing Special. Wouldn’t Keep Around, But a Decent Enough Brew.

Minimal creamy head, dirty brown with some red color. Light sweet almost smokey malt aroma. Flavor is a sweet nutty bitter thing. Meh.

bottle.mmmm. i like this. pours a deep mahogany with a small darkish white head. aroma is weak, not easy to pick up much from the nose. i enjoyed the taste, malt taste that is a bit nutty(of course). slight bitter taste that balances well. finishes with a caramel flavor that i enjoy.
