Commercial Description:
Don't be intimidated by the rich walnut color. This beer is really not heavy at all. It is very smooth with no bitterness, and has a real warming, nut-like flavor and aroma. Brewed to match a traditional English mild, it has carbonation levels that are more American. Our "flagship" brew, it's a very social drink and goes great with all types of food.

Poured a medium and cloudy brownish color with a large sized (3.5 finger) off white head. Aromas of cardboard, wet mud with some burnt malts. Tastes of nuts, caramel and some toffee. Tasted better than that awful aroma. Thin body.

Sweet sticky caramel malt aroma. Light brown copper color with a thin off-white head. Body is thick and sweet with notes of maple and pecans. Not much balance here and a little too cloying on the sweetness.

bottle courtesy of Dalzale. Pours brown with a generous tan head. Smells of sweet malt, nutty, earthy. Tastes sweet and lightly tarte with an earthiness on the finish.

A drinkable session beer, light brown with a creamy beige head, this comes across much like a mild ale. It’s got a decent nutty malt aroma and flavor with just a bit of herbal hopping in the finish. Not bad.

Amber color with a rehyrated dry yeast looking head. Aromas of light licorice, toffee, hay, silage, and faint lemon citric hops. Definate DMS - with light caramel malt, creamed corn, hazelnuts and buttered toast. Decent malt in the finish. Thinner in feel. The first one from this brewery that was a bit of a disappointment.

Thanks to Jewedekind for this. Pours deep copper/slight ruby with medium white head. Aroma of malt, nuts, toffee, some cognac. Tastes malty, with toffee, big almonds, and some finishing fruit and caramel. A decent nut brown.

Draught sample at the brewpub, late July 2006. Clear maple with a thin ring of dying head and no lace....nose faintly nutty, a touch acrid, with hints of caramel, decent qualities but too weak....body sweet, rather thin, light vanilla-brown sugar notes combining with nutty oiliness gives a pleasant but unmemorable cast to this wholly ordinary example of a wholly ordinary style.
