Poured dark with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, pretty pleasant. Taste starts with coffee but dominated by an acidic cherry flavor. OK body but somewhat thin for a stout. The acidity in this put me off; don’t know if its intended or if the bottle was past its prime. ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2005 Bottled. Pours very dark without much head. Roasted coffee and chocolate dominate the flavor. It lacks a bit in the body department but it is a very tasty stout. RAYBOY01 (1867), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 25, 2005 Chocolate/coffee/toffee/and burnt sugar flavors all present. I found the mouthfeel a little too thin for style, but a decent attempt at a stout. OK! Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2005 I liked the taste of this solid brown brew, a roasted malt with a good helping of chocolate, some dark coffee, and a touch of nutty bitterness in the finish. It looked just fine, too. But I swear, there was NO AROMA AT ALL. None of the other folk present at the The LoSBD meeting could detect one either. Weird.
