May 2, 2007 Bottle from my dad. Poured black with a small tan head. Pretty good carbonation. Nose was light with roasted and chocolate malts. Full bodied and easy to drink. Better than I expected.

Deep brown pour. Medium head. No retention or lacing. Aroma of coffee and chocolate malts, and a little bitter, grassy hops. Tasted the same, without the hops. Slightly bitter finish. Creamy texture. No surprises here, but very good.

Apr 9, 2007 Picked up a few bottles from Trigs in Wausau. This stout pours a black brew with some red highlights and a foamy tan head. Aroma of strong coffee, pecans and dark chocolate. Taste of mocha and chocolate barley malt. Some bitter aftertaste.Very well good northern Wisconsin stout.

Mar 30, 2007 Updated: May 24, 2007On tap at Wilmarths Deepwater Grille. Wow, almost like drinking a totally different beer. Dark brown with creamy brown head. Dark chocolate nose with some coffee but the hazelnut dominates. Coffee and chocolate in the body with a smooth finish.

Nice malty nose. A little coffee. brown pour. Lots of coffee in this one, but a little rough on the finish.

Mar 7, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a deep dark brown color with orange highlights. Extremely effervescent. Way too much carbonation. Must be a bad bottle. Head was a light tan color. Very roasty aroma and flavor reminiscent of coffee and bitter chocolate. Full bodied with a bitter roasty finish.

Mar 5, 2007 Pours a nice dark black color with a smallish brown head. Nice dark roast coffee and chocolate on the nose. Nice smokey flavor with a nice dose of chocolate and coffee.

Mar 4, 2007 Bottle at Sir Benedict’s Tavern. Aroma of prunes, dark and densely fruity with caramel. As the beer warms the immediate strength of the prune taste dissipates, giving way to flavors of chocolate and oatmeal raisin cookies. Much richer palate at this point. A little different, and not so bad at all.
