| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 18, 2005 Clear very dark brown. Roasted cocoa dominance, but slightly phenolic at the same time and surprisingly sulfury in mouth, which was certainly unexpected from a stout. Simplistic cigary and oaky palate, rather dry, heavily roasty. CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Pours a rich oily opaque with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly caramely sweet and very roasty with hints of dark fruit complexity. Body starts robust and silky with a nice malty sweetness before a bittersweet, mildly dry, roasted finish. Very nice for a regular stout. A little more malt and this could be imperial. hopscotch (5511), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

The nose is of rich, creamy, milk chocolate, cashew, hazelnut, coconut and buttermilk. Well-balanced with lots of burnt notes in the flavor. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Fairly short, roasty, lightly sweet finish. Thanks to robertsreality for the bottle.
