| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Updated: Dec 12, 20072006 GABF Caramelly aroma, very mild with some light roast. Taste is caramel with some tartness. It would seem like it needs some age to grow into the oxidized versions I typically prefer. Bottle Aroma is raisins, brown sugar, cookie dough. Taste is caramelized brown sugar, plums, prunes, alcohol, kinda rummy. I failed to enter a numerical rating this time. WeeHeavySD (3042), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2007 Bottle courtesy of JJPM74: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some notes of toffee is dominating. Taste is also dominated by some notes of caramel and toffee with some sweet malt also present. Body is quite full with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting take on the style but a bit too one-dimensional for my liking. zathrus13 (1317), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Slightly hazy red chestnut brown body, long lasting light brown head; Not to big a nose, pleasant ordinary sharp wooden caramel aromas; Huge soft carbonation, hoppy bitter sweet, balanced but a bit boring; Long caramel sweet and caramel aroma in finish with a long late hoppy dry bite. Alright beer. I love the UK-style old ales, I think the US-style old ales is one of the most confusing styles of beer that rarely knows what it wants.
