Oct 5, 2006 A nut-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor has strong notes of alcohol which is present from the start to the finish with both a warming fealing as well as a note of metal, but it also has notes of caramel. The carbonation level is very high.

Quite full-bodied, sweetish with notes of burned caramel, nuts, brown sugar and a hint of wood. Fairly high carbonation and a fairly hoppy finish - a little brutal hoppiness actually. 280907

Jun 11, 2006 Hazy amber-chestnut colour. Rich aroma is soft caramel and light earth. Good depth of chewy, earthy malts but limited in complexity. The sweet, moderately thick brew just seems basic, and doesn’t plum the depths of fruitiness and very dark maltiness that the best old ales do.
