Light aroma of caramel and very light roasted malt. Caramel taste, with a touch of roasted malt. Not bad, if you are fond of this kind of beers, but too simple for me. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 5, 2006 Tap at SPH. Deep amber beer with a light earthy aroma. Yeast is pretty restrained with low esters. Otherwise quite lacking in malt character. The body is very thin and watery. The hopping is nice, earthy flavour but low on bitterness, but it really needs the maltiness kicked up significantly. A rare miss for SPH. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 25, 2005 The DM & Hotstuff vacation tour July 2005. This draft brew from the Blind Tiger Ale House poured a small sized head of finely sized mostly diminishing white colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and copper brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malty doughy mild . Its mouth feel is initially tingly with a lingering mild biting palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained thin malt hop notes. OK, but nothing great. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2006 On tap at the Hop Devil Grill. Pours light amber with a tight but short lived head. Aroma is caramel with just a small amount of somkiness. Tastes is mellow toffee and sweet dough. I get a bit of pecan nuttiness as well. Nicely carbonated and on the thin side in the body. No smokiness noted. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
