Tap at Barcade. Bright, malty, nutty, sweet chesnut and anise aroma. Fairly rich, clean flavor, notes of stone fruits and nuts. Easy drinking, pretty damn close to style. Not too sweet or estery, a tad grainy, a bit yeasty, with mild alcohol burn. A splendid effort.

On tap at SPH. Pours a cloudy brown with a small white head. Aroma of cinnamon, sweet fruits, and sweet tart candies. Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, melon, some roasted and charred malt. Very nice and complex, smooth and drinkable. Quite good on tap! 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Tap at SPH. Aroma of molasses, toffee, dried, dark fruits, restrained but apparent yeastiness. Flavor malty, mildly roasty, with chocolate notes, fairly rich, sweetish fruits. Medium rich. Good stuff. A shame the score is so low due to two-year-old bottles.

Tried this at TAP NY at the urging of Trevor. Pours a lightly hazy ruby brown with a bit of a beiged white head. Aromas are overflowing with dark fruit and sweet malt. Very sweet and a bit spicy. Finishes with a bit of banana yeast. Not my favorite of the day, but pretty decent.

On tap at SPH. Arrived at the table a slightly hazed reddish tinted brown with a very thin off-white head. Pleasant aroma of malt, yeast and a bit of spice. The flavor is malt, figs, bananas, yeast, cloves and allspice. The cloves especially linger on the palate well beyond the swallow. Very flavorful. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and somewhat sweet. Medium-full bodied. Enjoyable brew.

Tap @ TAP 2009. One of my favorites of the day. Nice full body dark plum brown color with an off white fluffy head. Aroma is sugary sweet with a nice roasty candied dates and figs. Taste is smooth and sweeth, molasses dark fruit and caramel and brown sugar and honey. Mellow sweet tart cherry behind the milknhoney goodness.
