ElJefe (506), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 17, 2007 Pours mahogany with a thick, fluffy off-white head that lasts forever. Bready, yeasty aroma of dark fruits is very reminiscent of holiday fruit cake. Apple, white grape, banana, vanilla - just a great, complex aroma. Big, malty flavor chock full of dark fruits, rum, molasses, yeast esters. Some alcohol in the finish serves to balance and smooth out the huge, syrupy mouthfeel. I like this one a lot. Too bad my buddy only brought me one bottle, as I would imagine this will age beautifully.
Bottle from first batch bottled at Sly Fox (2006, I believe).
