Its metallic, dusty, malty, and hoppy. The appearance is amber with a large head. The flavor is much better than the aroma with an emphasis on toasted malt, grain husks, and butterscotch. The palate is average for the style. Overall it has good and bad but the taste is good. kpresley77 (134), Jackson, Georgia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Pours orange amber with rimming, eggshell head. Caramel nose with mild earthy hop notes. Full mouth feel with caramel and toffee. Solid bitter, moderate, but not overly done. Caramel seems just out of reach. Watery and lacking in flavor. Tastes like a slightly overhopped Octoberfest. Just OK. bennylava (85), California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Pours a clear, dark amber/ caramel brown color with a thin tan head that quickly dissolves into a very minimal lace. Malty aroma of roasted nuts and subtle hops. Nicely balanced and not as watered down as most alt beers with a nice malty backbone countering the slight hop flavor and a slight roasted nut flavor.
