Lots of rolling carbonation from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is candylike Relatively kind on the palate. Has a mild bitterness which is also relatively kind. As the session continues, there is a building bitterness on the back of the throat. Finish is mild building to medium linger that hangs for a while. Previous rating: I am a little bit pissed I already tried this as Southampton Altbier. 12 oz bottle. Pours with the appearance of a light root beer, with lots of bubbles coming up. No appreciating head. Smells a little sweet and yeasty. Slight malt and almost sweet root beer taste. Can’t detect much bitterness if any. Nice slight tingly carbonation on the back of my tongue. Has a very enjoyable finish, however, it has a small amount of bitterness that lingers. Overall, nice beer. I think I like the Alt style, erie’s heritage alt was good too!
SECOND RATING 8/25/07: On tap at the Bocktown. Very enjoyable! Mild as many witbiers, but without the spice. Very little bitterness on the finish, if any.Reminds me of many scottish ales. cbkschubert (1974), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Quite drinkable alt that perhaps lacks just a little bit of the dry bite I associate with this style. Malty but not quite biscuity. I liked it but it’s not quite a dead-on alt. nimbleprop (894), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
