Aug 11, 2005 (Thanks to Zathrus13 for this bottle)Red/copper color with ample head. Mild malty aromas with some herbal hoppy notes. Clean mouthfeel, with bready malts and some hoppy flavors that linger. Could stand to be a touch more bitter.

Aug 7, 2005 Decent sized head of very large bubbles. Light carbonation. Almost soda bubble like but longer lived. Sticky, scattered lacing remains. Dark orange in color with a light aroma of malts and and some kind of bread. A hint of spices also. Flavor is weird. Sort of tastes like chlorinated pool water with a sharp crisp bitterness in there. Plenty of minerals. Light bodiead with a bit of lemon and perfume. Strange. Finish is dry and a little bitter. A strange and not all that great "secret" ale.

Jul 31, 2005 A crisp reddish bronze with medium head. The carbonation was rather soft. Tones of caramel and berries with a sweet finish. This is a well balanced good beer.

Jul 27, 2005 Pour deep ruby with nive big dense tan head...smell is sweet caramel and lightly dirty and fruity...nice and sweet with a medium body and a hint of biscuit turned bitter finish...nice...thanks Clark!

Jul 25, 2005 Dark copper with an off-white head. Caramel and pear in the nose. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, floral hops and apple. Not that sweet, some medium hop bitterness that lingers in the finish a little bit. Disappointingly thin body with moderate carbonation. Not bad but very average. This bottle says Saratoga Springs Bottling. I wonder if it’s the same group that brews the subpar Mendocino brews...

Jul 24, 2005 I couldn’t finish this one because of the taste: it had a kind of coppery bitter raison tone that seemed a bit watered down. The sweetness seemed a bit over the top given the other elements. The aroma was hardly present to me. I have nothing against the style, I just find this particular brew a but repellent. I gave it a second take and there was a nice hoppy bite in there but I’m not ready to chase this one down.
