Deep brown with a two finger tan head. The roasted malts and coriander actually go quite well together with the slightly dry banana-y Belgian yeast. There are also some milk chocolate notes. Flavor has some pretty tangy characteristics (mainly lemon) that I wasn’t ready for, with some leather and plenty of roast, almost a bit of ashy. Coriander takes a backseat here, as well as the Belgian yeast. Semi-dry finish, bitterness around a 2-3. Medium body with moderate carbonation. I could have done without the sourness, though it seems that it was intentional. That said, still a pretty decent beer. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of roast, light cocoa, cherries, and spices. Taste of chocolate, caramel, light roast, tart cherries, nuts, and a dry finish. TomDecapolis (3168), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Bottle pours a deep black with a bubbly tan head that went away quickly. Aroma of tart cherry notes, chocolate, roasted malt, some light Belgian yeast esters and other fruity notes. Flavor of the same tart cherry meets chocolate and roasted malt. Fruity and somewhat easy drinking for a stout. Rciesla (3621), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Peanuty and herbal, spicy, thick and sweet, licorice, complex but very unusual. Nice black pour, good head. Sweet and vegetal flavor, again very unusual, all sorts of crazy herbal and spice flavors. Black malts and a touch of bitterness. Unusual beer, but definitely a foreign stout. Good stuff. adrian910ss (1421), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
