Sampled at C&P Otown Throwdown, big thanks to Dickinsonbeer! Pours a thin black with a thin tan head. Roasted grain, cocoa and slightly sour aroma. Dark roasted grain, dark fruit and slightly sweet malt taste. Pretty decent foreign stout.

22oz Bottled Dec. 2008--thank you Margaret (LilBeerDoctor) for the sweet bonus! Deep brown with a two finger tan head. The roasted malts and coriander actually go quite well together with the slightly dry banana-y Belgian yeast. There are also some milk chocolate notes. Flavor has some pretty tangy characteristics (mainly lemon) that I wasn’t ready for, with some leather and plenty of roast, almost a bit of ashy. Coriander takes a backseat here, as well as the Belgian yeast. Semi-dry finish, bitterness around a 2-3. Medium body with moderate carbonation. I could have done without the sourness, though it seems that it was intentional. That said, still a pretty decent beer.

Poured a hazy dark brown / red color with a thin, light tan head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, light cocoa, cherries, and spices. Taste of chocolate, caramel, light roast, tart cherries, nuts, and a dry finish.

Bottle pours a deep black with a bubbly tan head that went away quickly. Aroma of tart cherry notes, chocolate, roasted malt, some light Belgian yeast esters and other fruity notes. Flavor of the same tart cherry meets chocolate and roasted malt. Fruity and somewhat easy drinking for a stout.

Bottle from Rciesla, thanks. Peanuty and herbal, spicy, thick and sweet, licorice, complex but very unusual. Nice black pour, good head. Sweet and vegetal flavor, again very unusual, all sorts of crazy herbal and spice flavors. Black malts and a touch of bitterness. Unusual beer, but definitely a foreign stout. Good stuff.

22 oz bomber. Pours a black cola with a medium light brown head. Aroma of light roasted malts, dark chocolate on the bitter side, yeast and cocoa. Taste of bitter roasted malts, chocolate, faint coffee, fruit and smoke. Has a slight charred aftertaste.
