| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2006 On tap at Ginger Man. Pours a clear copper/amber with a white ring head. Caramel aroma. Malty caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Sweet finish. A mild beer with no real character. Unimpressed with this beer. I’d like to try some more Biere de Garde. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA

This is my first experience with this style, but i see that it reads the meaning is best when aged. This beer to me was disapointing at best. The beer itself wasn’t bad, but their wasn’t anything incrdible about it or anything that really stuck out. Poured an orange/copper color with a small white head. A red wine and hint of caramel in the smell. It was very sugary from the beginning ot the end almost too much for my likings. The palate was the only thing that was better than average about it. It held flavors real well and kept you wanting to sip a little more. I hope their is better in this style. Sregnar35 (730), Rotterdam, New York, USA

It was light and almost flavorless. even a friend , who doesn’t drink beer that it was BUD Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2005 Courtesy of Hopdog in trade. Pours copper with nice tan head. Aroma very skunky farmhouse, grassy, and very musty. Flavor is all sweet malt up front, mostly caramel with a strange burnt/roasty character to it. Almost coffee like, very faint but there. As it warms a more woodsy, cedar aroma comes through. Beer is all over the place, in a bad way.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2005 Bottle. Quite sweet and more Belgian in character for a beer that is modelled on those of northern France. Touches of vanilla and clove. But the main flavours savoury malt character. Yeasty, Belgian style. Quite sweet and full boidied. Caramelly. I think this was quite good, but not the best that i’ve had in this style.
