Primarily a sour at palate, intense flavour not for everyone. I liked it but was not expecting this. Citrus in aroma. A wild take on the actual style brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Sampled at Logan’s loft during GABF RateBeer party 2005. My first “Biere De Garde.” Pours hazy orange, a bit chunky, with a light and quickly dissipating head. The aroma is of light wheat and grains. The flavor is slightly sweet in a citrus way (orange and lemon) with wheatish grain. Body is creamy yet crisp. Lingering fresh with summery aftertaste. Seems like a good choice on any hot day. 750ml. Pours a copper color with a sizable but quickly dissipating off-white head. The nose has some phenols mostly coming accross as cloves and yeast along with some fruits, cobwebs and popcorn. Flavor is a bit sharp at first. Notes of grass, lemons, apples and strawberries backed by a big caramel maltiness with an almost biting dryness. Lingering toffee/ coffee aftertaste. Pretty complex; I could probably continue picking out flavor notes for the next hour.

Nose is juicy, like apples, possibly a bit of melon. Taste is mostly applie like with a nice fizzy texture and a good hop like bitterness in the finish.
Bouteille, Southampton SHPH, N.Y., Septembre 2005. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2005 Sampled at the labot day gathering. Lambic-esque grassy bitter aroma. Flavor comes off as slightly bitter acidic and some grassy sweetness, almost wheat tasting, and sour. Bitter, sour, acidic, that seems to sum it up. Yeah, I enjoyed it. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA
