Commercial Description:
This dark German lager, known as schwarbier, is dangerously quaffable. Our version of this timeless classic has a medium body and takes on flavors to dark chocolate and cocoa. The use of hops are strictly to balance this beer out, allowing the velvety malt profile to take front and center. This is a nice session beer for the winter months ahead.

Druahgt at Black Tiger, NYC. Named Southampton Schwartzbier at the pub. Dark amber, nice creamy brown/beige head. Malty aroma, some chocolate. Malty fruity flavor, quite hoppy to be a schwarzbier. Some grass and some metal balancing the malty profile.

Draft at dba. Sturdy, big bubbled tan head. Aroma has classic sweet malts and spicy, fresh hops. First taste is cocoa along with mild but tasty chocolate. Very smooth mouthfeel and a as good of a beer for the style that’s out there.

Tap at Barcade: Pours a cola brown with a dense, creamy tan head. Nice toasted malt nose. Milky and rich with a dark grain bread touch. The body is creamy and fluffy. Nice malt depth to the flavor. Soft, roasted and mildly smoky. Apparent German malts give it a dark bread-like, chewy body. Very mild cocoa is apparent as it warms and it has a light coffee bitterness in the finish. A nice Schwarzbier.

On Tap at Blind Tiger (NY)
Appearance: Ruby brown with medium creamy tanned top.
Nose : Refreshing citric hop aromas with sweet malts below.
Flavor/Palate :Flat , creamy , medium full bodied . Stout like roasty mocha character in the middle-end . Tar with mineral hop end. Aromatic hops found in aroma was nowhere to be found. Drinkable, creamy dry dark lager .

Growler. Dark brown brew with a foamy head - looks like Coca-Cola. Sweet, yeasty aroma. A mildly sweet beer with a little roastiness and mellow chocolate malt. Pleasant, but not very exciting.

10th rating! Woo Hoo! Pours a nice dark brown. Aroma is roasted malts. Flavor is slightly coffee/chocolate (somewhere between the two). This beer is definitely worth the effort and anyone from the NYC area should try it when they head out to the brewpub.
