kkearn (906), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2009 750mL bottle. Pours a clear copper color, topped with an ample sized tan head. Very floral, quite spicy aroma, with notes of lavender, menthol, wheat, and berries. Flavor begins with wheat and honey, which are nicely complimented by caramel, flowers, pepper, and herbs. Honey and herbs linger on the palate, with pepper at the tail end. Somewhat thick, syrupy body. Interesting beer, I’m glad i had the opportunity to try it. livelaughlovep (90), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Jun 6, 2009 What a feminine brew - Non-offensive light flavor, clearly lavender with a bit of yeast in the form of sweat & funk. Nose is very, very floral, and its a touch too sweet. Very different. bitbucket (1910), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 1, 2009 Pours cloudy pale orange with a fluffy white head. Sweet, floral almond aroma. Taste of flowers and herbal tea. "Different" is probably the best way to describe this beer. fiver29 (609), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 23, 2009 Bottle pours hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is very floral with some white pepper. Flavor was more of the nose with a dominance in the floral area. I wasn’t real impressed. MaltOMeal (504), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA May 19, 2009 bottle. Pours a color of dirty water with small white bubbles along the edge of the glass. Nose is of overripe fruit, flowery perfume and straw. This had an unusual taste. A bit fruity and flowery. Mouthfeel was dry and acidic with slight alcohol.. Different. BDR (2054), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 19, 2009 Wow. This was amazing! I couldn’t really pick up any individual flower in the aroma or flavor aside from the lavender, but both were an incredible bouquet of floral goodness. Hazy dark orange/yellow color with no head and almost no carbonation. An incredible elixir. Southampton continues to impress. I have yet to have something that was merely "average" from these guys. Just one home run after another! glennmastrange (687), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 14, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of straw for the malt, heavy grass and lemon for the hops, cobwebs for the yeast and background notes of white wine, wood, honey and apricot. Head is thin, with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is a slightly hazy honey color. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a soft carbonation. Not bad, different I’d say. Tastes like a cross between mead and beer. NobleSquirrel (975), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to hopdog. Pours a very pretty, hazy golden-yellow. Fizzy head. Nose is quite floral, both from flowers and hops. I do get some of the chamomile notes, a touch spicy and a little bit of acidity and funk. Taste is much of the same, very soft and floral. Super light beer for the abv and clean. I could drink a ton of this. Nice acidity that helps with the floral notes. Fantastic.
