Poured pale orange and somewhat clear with billowy white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma of citrus, malts, and coriander. Had a very Belgian feel to it. Taste was more malty up front, with honey being the predominant flavor. Get a little bit of the citrus in there as well, but not so much of the floral aspects. Toward the finish I thought i got some of the flowers in there, which contributed a bitter taste, which was quite welcome here. A little boozy at the end. Personally, I found this beer to be better cold rather than warmed up a bit. Kinda dissapointed that I couldn’t get much of the flowers here. A decent brew nonetheless. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Plain yellow label on the bottle with no indication of the year or whether it was brewed at Sly Fox or the PH. At any rate, poured a hazy amber/light orange with a billowy head. Aroma of slightly sweet quickbread or poundcake malts laced with citrus and pollen notes, with some baking spices, lemon thyme, and a rustic funkiness like you’d sense from a barn door or corral railing. There is also some underlying buttery diacetyl, but nothing ruinous. Flavor of smooth honey-butter biscuit malts and orange zest, almost like an orange scone, with a backdrop of spices and fine herbs. A neat little fresh grass and citrusy hop package comes through at the end. After a while, the floral, herbal, and hoppy qualities compound on the palate, making this taste like some kind of liquified Swiss herbal-lemon-honey cough drop. Overall, however, its a nice little creative flavor showcase----delicate but assertive. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Dry, flowery (especially lavender), some sweet malt and real biscuit flavors. A bit spicy with a seeming meld of noble-ish hops and marigold (c,mon, I know you ate some as a kid...). Bready and flowery aroma. Nice, but slightly thin, body. Fascinating beer, but the lavender is a bit too thick for my tastes. Gorgeous color, beautiful bronze. It pours a cloudy golden color with a slightly off-white head that is medium height. Aroma is largely floral with earthy and spicy notes thrown in. The taste is dominated by the lavender but balanced by more subtle flavors and the bitterness of the hops. The beer becomes slightly more bitter as it ends, but overall this is an absolutely wonderful beer. I could drink this all day, every day. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA

Fresh floral aroma with hints of lemon honey spices and pepper. Taste is spicy with lemon and honey undertones and a peppery finish. Almost like drinking a honey lemon cough drop concoction with floral flavor added. Interesting and a nice summer beer change up. Definitely not your everyday brew. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Flavor was pretty sweet for a saison. Also had a real solid burn on the back of the tongue that was very different. A lot of bubbly carbonation to this. Really nice.
