jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2005 On tap at Barcade. Hazy golden color with a good size off white head. Very floral and herbal aroma with some tropical fruit in there as well. Flavor of oranges, bananas, flowers(don’t ask me what kinds because I’ve never eaten a flower, but this is how I figure they would taste) and black pepper. Very different and very good. I wish I hadn’t traded away my two bottles I had in my basement. MAP (1085), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Sep 9, 2005 Tasted alone at the Labor Day event. Why alone? This is about the time when my gas from the imperial stout tasting came to haunt me. Haunt me and peal the paint of the wall. I think an exorcism of aofoxxy’s garage might be in order if odd events occur. Seriously, her car wouldnt start the next day after that. Ahyhow, the aroma is a slight mustard an cinnamon, malt and bread. Flavor is not as impressive as the aroma. More of a summery spice feel. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2005 Smells like gingerale, pours cloudy. Tastes like tangerines and small oranges with spiciness--have you ever put pepper on an organge (it makes it sweet)
Bitter finish. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Sep 5, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of TAR. Aroma is fruit, yeast, flowers, and some citrus tartness. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a white head. Yeasty with some orange peel and light tartness and a flowery bitterness in the finish. temporrari (327), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 24, 2005 An extrememly unique brew. Pours deep golden transparent yellow, medium white head, high carbonation. Aroma is one of the most interesting I’ve come across. Like nothing else. Flowey, yet spicy, like Christmas gingersnap and cinammon, Belgian yeast, grassy, apple cider, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor has some sweetness to start, dry in the finish, yeast, sweet malts, the spices are there and more blended than in the aroma. Really something of an odd beer, very much worth trying if you can. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2005 Updated: Jun 8, 20062005. Hazy, toasty golden color with mild carbonation and a collapsing soapy white head. Aroma of lavender, perfume, vanilla, apple, rich honey, and alcohol. Flavor is of flowers, apricots, and lemons with more prominent perfumy lavendar notes and some clove. Semi-dry, but comes across sweeter than many saisons. Tea-like palate. Good, but I couldn’t imagine drinking half of a 750 in one sitting (let alone a whole 750) without the flavors becoming obnoxious. I like it in small doses.
MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Jul 17, 2005 Bottle at Ommegang, 2005. Golden, clear, white head. Wintergreen-like aroma. Spicy malty wintergreen-like flavors. Spicy finish.
