bottle.....appearance: muddled, non-transparent light brown almost golden with a fair amount of white head....aroma: huge on the citrus (orange, lemon) as well as flowers and other spices like cinammon, cloves, and i can’t think of what else right now.....taste: wheat/grainy, huge amount of citrus, more sweet and sugary with the aforementioned spices thrown into the mix....very nice indeed.

Pouring at the SH booth at BCTC. Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin white head, but very still looking. Flowery, smelling of chamomile tea, yeast, and pears. Very pretty. Flavors don’t echo the flower tea aromas quite as strongly, leaning towards a spiced plum and caramel vent, but overall very tasty.

A tasty hardy brew - another good beer from Southamton. Similar to some of their Bier de Garde’s I’ve had in the past: chewy, lavender, spices, with a hint of sage. Plant-like and earthy. Beautiful semi-cloudy orange body, slight lacing around the sides of my glass.

Cloudy yellowish color, with a medium head. Aromas are yeast, citrus (mostly orange), spice and pepper. Flavor is very floral, as well as citrus. Some coriander, earthiness, and pepper. The aftertaste is a bit sour and dry. The body is medium, which seems perfect for this beer. Very different and very good. Thanks to goldtwins for this one.

From bottle, poured at the 2006 Pizza Port 12 Hour Belgian Beer Party courtesy of cquiroga. Beady, lemony yellow pour with a huge white head. Wonderfully wild aromas of freshly mown lawn, wheat bread, and an almost cloying herbal sweetness of honey and lavender. The flavors are a smidgen sweeter than the aroma suggested, but not in an overly unpleasant kind of way. Fresh bread dough and the wave of floral tones balance out the honey flavored brew sugars quite well. Smack of ginseng and honeysuckle.

Sample BI Indy gathering 2/25/06 - Aroma is dishsoap, lemongrass, yeast, and unknown spices. Pours cloudy yellow with a small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a bit of hops and malt showing up. Very floral. Palate is sticky and tart. A unique and tasty brew. I’d like to have a whole bottle to really get the full spectrum of flavors.

Pours a cloudy yellowish- orange with a frothy white head. Aroma is very Belgianish barnyard funky, light candi sugar, citrus and spices. Well made. Slighty tart finish - this would make a nice winter seasonal.

I know it’s described as merely a saison but it felt more like a good Belgian tripel. Wild flowers in the nose? Maybe, but good yeast and bread and notes of something. Huge head on a clear golden body. Again, flavor more of a tripel than a saison ... with bread and yeast and ... ok .. wild flowers instead of what I would have called a grassy tripel note. Lively in the mouth. Good finish. Delightful.
