’05 bottle. straw golden color, clear. lots of fizz up the center. tall fluffy white head. puffs of clingy lacing ledges. aroma is malty sweet like honey and cookies, floral like salad flowers, and spicy like white pepper with yeast. flavor is much like the aroma, which is nice! flowery malt, sweetish and tangy. the spicyness is more like candied/crystalized ginger. pretty high carbonation that kicks up the spicyness. dryish finish/aftertaste.

9/28/09 notes: 2009 GABF, Friday. I keep wanting to like Southampton’s stuff, but it always falls short somehow. Great name for this beer, though. Nose is herbal, perfumy smooth-sweet, not too much funk. Flavors are disappointingly one-sided, settling for a sweet blend of bubble gum, sweet pear and peach. I just didn’t get anything to balance those flavors, especially for this mature beer style.

All flowers (lavendar) on the nose. Golden amber color-clear. Tastes of lavendar with some hops. Very different. Better as it warms, but not exciting.

Draft at Capone’s. Cloudy orange color. Heavy floral aroma with some perfume and honey sweetness. Flavor was floral/spicy, biscuit and wheat like overtones. Some banana. Intriguing.

Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma is very floral with spicy yeast and a hint of sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma with the sweet malt realy coming through. Medium silky mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and spicy finish. Very good.

#420- I hoped to do a Lagunitas but oh well. Bottled 750 dated 2005 via trade with kramer17801 (I think). Before I even open this bottle, I can see that the cork is pushed up about a eighth of an inch and the top seems to be mushroomed under the hold of the cage. When I removed the cage the cork shot up another quarter of an inch but stayed in the bottle- I’m guessing this one may have some carbonation. Pours a clear, light copper color with a huge, billowy white head. Lavender fills the room as I pour. The aroma is primarily lavender and chamomile with some spicy notes. thin flavor with a coating mouth feel. Tastes are floral and cinnamon. Champagne-like effervescence. Dry finish.

Brilliant golden orange color with a foamy white head. Earthy, floral and citric aroma. Light sweetness, fruity, lemon grass, floral notes. Great balance. Fantastic beer. Thanks eyedrinkale.
