simply outstanding..the best saison that i have tried..cloudy, golden yellow pour with medium white head...huge florals, spice, yeast, lemon, candy cane, and mint leaves in the nose...perhaps the most unique and complex aroma that i have sampled..flavor is touches of rose, peppermint, spearmint, clove, spruce, lemon, and grass...completely fresh and crisp, this beer is a gem...perfect for a saison

750mL bottle. Pours a clear copper color, topped with an ample sized tan head. Very floral, quite spicy aroma, with notes of lavender, menthol, wheat, and berries. Flavor begins with wheat and honey, which are nicely complimented by caramel, flowers, pepper, and herbs. Honey and herbs linger on the palate, with pepper at the tail end. Somewhat thick, syrupy body. Interesting beer, I’m glad i had the opportunity to try it.

750 (about a year old) in Duvel glass. Hazy copper caramel color with lasting flat head and lace. Yeasty hoppy spicy floral aroma with touch of alcohol. Soft sweet vanilla peach with complex arrangement of spicy herbs and hops. One of the flowers is irritating, tastes like cinnamon, but otherwise this is a nicely crafted complex ale.

On tap at Capones sampled with Stegosaurus and JB175. Cloudy orange pour with two finger white head definite flower aroma. Sweet malt flavors with a floral finish. I wasn’t as crazy about this as the rest were. It was just ok for me.

Dry, bitter, herbal, floral, reminds me slightly of Saison Dupont but with slightly less carbonation. Malt is subtle but hints of honey and biscuit are there along with a simple-syrup-like initial sweetness that fades to the dry middle and end. Mild esters. Good.

I have wanted to try this one for a long time, and I finally dropped the $10 at New Beer and went for it. Pours a fogged golden amber with a good bit of crème head. Nose is that grassy orange funk. Seems almost like a bit of mint is there. Hmmm. The flavor...there is that mint again. That is a new one for me in a saison. Definite fruit character there as well. Big sweet edge. I really get a mass of mint on this one. Seems very vibrant, possibly a bit too much so for a saison. But either way, this is a good saison. Feel is of course laden with bubble from a huge amount of carbonation. Liquid is pretty typical. Overall it is very drinkable. A bit too tangy IMO, but still a good saison.

Pours a hazy, golden honey color body with lots of bubbles and a good sized white head. The aroma is belgian yeast and wildflowers. The flavor is sweet and flowery with a bready finish. Is there such thing as an Abbey Saison? Good stuff!
