Aroma is flowery/spicy. palate is sweet and quite folowery and spicy, as it was in the aroma. I’m not sure what flower is responsible for the ginger, but i get definite ginger characters. I’m not a fan of ginger , so it inevitably affected my score, to much flowery spicyness for me. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Gushing to slightly hazy orange beer with huge, collapsing dense off-white head. Unbelievably perfumey (natural), flowery nose, with hints of hops and diverse citrusfruit. The flower aroma’s - as some honey, and also some pharmaceutical notes, dried plants, etc. - are unmistakable. This is just great. Rather fiery taste with honey, caramel, flowers, citrusfruit, pineapple, glue, higher alcohols and esters. Firm sourishness, with underneath some restsweetness. Slighty peppery, ginger-y, but no real bitterness. Fiery MF, some alcohol obvious. Superb realisation. What I like most about this, is its originality. Saison gets a new meaning here. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 29, 2004 Updated: Dec 20, 2004Magnificence and serenity coexisting in an immense pillow of doughy flower petals...Citrusy buds sprout here and there amongst the heavenly photophagi and coerce some hay blades into forming a surreptitious underlying bitterness...Paradisiacal thoughts are summoned as a silent comfort installs itself, and eyes and ears are no longer necessary...
With time, sweeter caramel malt notes appear and the flowers become peppery, somewhat losing part of their doughy fluffiness...Still very unique and massively tasty... madsberg (5059), Søborg, Denmark

Malts, flowers and sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is light malty with some spice notes, flowers and alcahol. Sweet and grassy in the end. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 24, 2007 Pours copper gold with a nice well sustained white head. Smells of lots of fruit (apples, peaches, pears, oranges), caramel, sugar and wheat. Tastes of hay, grass, fresh fruit, pepper, nice perfumy hints throughout. Mouthfeel is moderately bitter and full. Finish is of hay, light pepper and has many farmhouse qualities. Well done! JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Cloudy yellow beer, chamomile, elderberry, rose hips, very appealing floral aroma. A bit of apple, banana, great sweet floral flavour on top of the fruitiness. Lingering yeasty estery finish. Tasty beer. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Sample from a 750ml bottle. Clear gold body, still, with nearly no head. Nose is sweaty, floral hibiscus and stinging perfume... very forward and heavy with the soapy/perfume/floral character in the aroma. Texture is somewhat syrupy, flavors are very floral, soapy, etc., with a definite honey note in the middle, but it develops an unwelcome sharpness across the middle as well. Syrupy, oily honey in the finish. Interesting but I think I’m missing something here. Usually it’s easy for a bottle conditioned siason to get at least a 4/5 for appearance, but this looked like still apple juice, and it was from a bottle that probably saw a lot of movement during the day (festival pour). Something to rerate in the future, perhaps.
